2. In brief
cooperation.law is an information website. It has no user accounts, comments, contact form, newsletter or advertising, and it uses no third-party analytics or tracking services. When you visit, we process the data needed to deliver the site and keep it secure, and we keep a privacy-friendly visitor statistic on our own server (section 4). We process further data only if you write to us.
3. Hosting and server log files
When you access this website, your browser automatically transmits data to our server, which stores it in log files: IP address; date and time of access; page or file requested; amount of data transferred and status code; referring page, where transmitted; browser type and version, operating system.
Purpose: delivering the website, secure and stable operation, detecting and preventing attacks.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is a secure and functioning website.
Retention: log files are deleted after seven days unless a specific security incident requires longer retention for investigation.
The website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany, which processes the data on our behalf and under our instructions on the basis of a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). Servers are located in Germany.
If someone calls up an outdated address on this website, they are redirected to the new page. Such redirects and requests for pages that do not exist are logged without IP address (address requested, time, referring page, browser identifier) and deleted after seven days. The purpose is maintaining links; the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
4. Visitor statistics
We use the plugin WP Statistics to compile statistics on the use of this website. The analysis runs exclusively on our own server. No cookies are set and no data is passed to third parties.
We record the page requested, date and time, the referring page, browser and operating system type, and the country from which the request is made. Your IP address is shortened before storage and additionally converted into a hash value with a key that changes daily. This does not allow us to identify you.
Purpose: to see which content is read, so that we can improve the website.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Retention: statistics data is deleted automatically after twelve months.
5. Protection of the login area
The editors’ login area is protected by limiting failed login attempts (plugin “Limit Login Attempts Reloaded”). After a failed attempt, the IP address, time and username entered are stored; after repeated failures, the IP address is temporarily blocked. This affects you only if you try to log in.
Purpose: protection against automated attacks on credentials. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Retention: entries are deleted once no longer needed for this purpose; blocks end when the set lockout period expires. The data stays on our server and is not passed to third parties.
6. Cookies and access to your device
When you simply read this website, we set no cookies for analytics, advertising or tracking. A technically necessary cookie may be set to remember your language version. Technically necessary storage is permitted without consent under Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act); subsequent processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. WordPress sets login cookies for logged-in editors only.
7. Contact by email
If you email us, we process your email address, your name if given, the content of your message and its metadata in order to answer your request.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to a contract or its preparation; otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (interest in answering enquiries). Retention: until your request has been dealt with, and beyond that where statutory retention obligations apply, in particular under the professional rules for lawyers and under commercial and tax law.
The address is that of the law office; messages are subject to lawyers’ professional secrecy. Unencrypted email can be read by third parties in transit. For confidential matters, please agree a secure channel with us first.
8. Links to other websites
This website links to other sites, such as bauer.legal, grundlinien.de or legal sources. Displaying a link transmits no data. Once you follow a link, the privacy notice of that site applies.
9. Transfers to third countries
We do not transfer personal data to countries outside the EU or EEA.
10. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)).
Right to object: where we process data under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). A short message to kanzlei@bauer.legal is sufficient.
Right to lodge a complaint: you may complain to a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority competent for us is: Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und für das Recht auf Akteneinsicht Brandenburg, Stahnsdorfer Damm 77, 14532 Kleinmachnow, Germany.
11. No automated decisions
No automated decision-making, including profiling (Art. 22 GDPR), takes place. You are not obliged to provide data, although the website cannot be accessed without the technically necessary connection data.
